A Different Approach to Counselling for Teenagers - Online & Face to Face

Hi, I'm Jason...

I specialise in teen anxiety and providing families with a fresh approach to counselling for teenagers - whether that is online over Zoom, or face to face in Polegate, near Eastbourne, East Sussex.

Since 2019, I have been providing Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, combined with psychotherapy, to help tweens and teenagers take back control of their lives and overcome their anxiety.

I am on the CNHC Register - which is used by GPs looking for a registered, clinical hypnotherapist.

Why do I love this form of counselling for teenagers?

I am passionate about this form of counselling for teenagers because:

  • it's focused on positive experiences and

  • tackling specific goals that your tween/teenager would love to overcome

  • and, most importantly, NOT about going into deep, long conversations about their negative and upsetting  experiences.

Counselling for teenagers usually means long term talking therapies, and sometimes traditional hypnotherapy, but solution focused hypnotherapy is all about changing negative thoughts and fears in a relatively short period of time.

How did I get into Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

The answer is that I had this form of hypnotherapy myself and it worked! I had a fear of food - wierd I know.

I loved learning about the human brain and found neuroscience so interesting.

Initially I completed a Level 1 course in counselling for teenagers and adults, and wanted to continue onto Level 2, but it was fully booked.

This was when a chat over a coffee with my hypnotherapist, led to me realise that I could help and support people by specialising in solution focused hypnotherapy.

I trained with CPHT Brighton - part of the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training group - the leading UK training provider for over 20 years.

Their qualification is considered to be the gold standard in hypnotherapy and is recognised as the centre of excellence for hypnotherapy / psychotherapy training. My training included over 120 hours of classroom training, then around 200 hours of 1 to 1 sessions with clients, plus home study.

I am a registered member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and a registered practitioner on the General Hypnotherapy Register.

What did I do before Counselling for Teenagers was my full-time focus?

I have managed businesses for many years, from small local companies to national / international operations. I was supporting teams of 10 to over 100 people.

I have also coached athletics at a very high standard for around 15 years and met many well-known athletes.

I am married and have four boys and two stepchildren. I love them all, even though it can be hard work sometimes!

I am dedicated to helping young people. It is so rewarding to see their commitment, combined with the solution-focused hypnotherapy process, creating new positive thought patterns and behaviours, in a much shorter time than other forms of counselling for teenagers.

So if you are seeking a positive, solution-focused option, instead of traditional counselling for teenagers with anxiety, please take up my offer of a free consultation to find out more. We can meet online or have a face to face consultation in Polegate, near Eastbourne, East Sussex.
